Once the front siding was up, I handmade a door. I will keep most of it a secret, but I used general lumber, stained dark, and after some slight headaches, I had a door. I then framed the porch I would be making. For the two main supports, I used some cedar logs that I found in the area from a logging company. It was slightly harder to work with the logs, but it turned out great. I was still unsure of what direction to go with the porch this weekend, so I only framed it out and got everything square for the next time I went up.
The door mounted.

Close up of the door.
