My first weekend building was the weekend of June 19 and 20, 2009. I set my goal very high and learned my first lessons of construction! The weekend involved plotting the area, building the foundation, and beginning the first two stud walls. Having no experience, this took the whole weekend! decided on a location slightly isolated off of a path on my family's land. It is in a stand of balsam firs with an old oak separating the cabin from the path. I chose the spot because of the isolation from the path and the view to the east: wide open with paper birch, balsams, and a variety of other evergreens and maples.
